If he was completely innocent of any wrongdoing, then he would have come forward as soon as the police put out an appeal for information. It’s quite telling that he’s remained silent on the matter.’

‘We’ve got to find him first,’ said Augusta. ‘We don’t have much to go on.’

‘No, we don’t. Perhaps the sister, Polly, knows something? It will be interesting to see what she can tell us.’
